Noriko's Barbies

When I was a little girl, I always asked my parents for a Barbie doll, but I never got one.  Later I found out why; something to do with my Mom’s fear that I might ask questions about the “bumps” and her having to explain them to me.  Many years later, after seeing a TV special on dolls, I thought to myself, “hey, I’m an adult, now I can buy my own Barbie dolls!”  And so it started.
I used to collect all Barbie dolls from vintage to special editions to whatever tickled my fancy.  Then came the Jenny dolls from Japan. But recently I took a good look at my surroundings and noticed that Barbie was beginning to dominate the decor in my house, which I thought was quite inconsiderate to the rest of my family, who incidentally have always been supportive of my obsessions, so I decided to specialize. Most of the pink boxes went to auction or were sold privately and so were all of Barbies friends, save Ken of course.  Others were put away in boxes to be taken out and looked or played with as I pleased.  The dolls that stayed up for display were my vintage collection, which you’ll see here.  One day I’ll take pictures of the rest of my boxed Barbies and Jennys and put them here too.
I still have some dolls for sale, so  please have a look by clicking
here.

I have 10 more vintage Barbies, but I got kind of tired of scanning and adjusting the photos.  I’ll probably finish later when I feel motivated again... :) 2 Oct. ‘98, 12:20a.m.
